CDA 2030 began by hosting a broad, inclusive community conversation - one that respects different perspectives and builds collaboration based on an open, constructive dialogue and sound, relevant information.
Starting in 2013, CDA 2030 gathered information through public forums and workshops, our website and social media, community surveys, interviews and focus groups. Residents expressed their ideas for our future and helped create a vision for greater Coeur d'Alene.
To launch this conversation, CDA 2030 produced a profile of our community today and trends and issues that might affect our future. These were used to inform community workshops, a community vision summit, and a road show with the community's evolving vision.
The CDA 2030 project has engaged the wider community in a comprehensive community 'visioning' process to create a vision for the future of greater Coeur d'Alene. The resulting objectives and action plan are owned by the community and used to inform and guide the plan, decisions and actions of community organizations.
This process has encouraged action now - from 'easy win' projects that were already happening, to 'big ticket' projects that could accelerate our community's vision.
CDA 2030 continues to promote collaboration and partnerships between business, government, civic groups, and the community-at-large. Our goal is to create a bright future for our community and a legacy for future generations.
