PARK(ing) It On Sherman 3rd Annual Celebration

Details: The 3rd Annual PARK(ing) It On Sherman event is brought to you by the City of Coeur d'Alene and CDA 2030, along with sponsorship and support from numerous community partners including several East Sherman businesses. This year the event will be on the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue. It is a FREE block party & community celebration that is kid and pet-friendly. In addition to live music by Current Flow and Deep Roots, food trucks (Taco Works CDA, The Wurst Man In Town, and Eat This Italian Ice) and a beer garden by The Relic Smokehouse and Pub, event highlights will include a dog parade and costume contest by CDA Pet Resort with judges from Fernan Elementary School, a "Casting for Kids" fishing derby by Fins & Feathers Tackle Shop & Guide Service, Bike Rodeo and bicycle safety and repair clinic by Lake City Bicycle Collective, fun & educational activities for kids by Kootenai Environmental Alliance and the Girls Scouts of EWNI, street art projects for teens and young adults by Emerge, NIA dance-style exercise for all ages by Ann Brueggemann, a performance by Sorensen Magnet School of the Arts' Dance Step Team, lawn games, a booth for Coeur d'Alene's Early Reading Program "Open Books. Open Doors" by University of Idaho Coeur d'Alene and United Way of North Idaho, landscape demonstration projects by Clearwater Summit Group, Inc. and updates on the East Sherman Master Plan! Come meet the Coeur d'Alene Police Department's Community Action Team! They will also be participating in the event. This annual block party is part of the visioning and master planning effort to revitalize East Sherman Avenue and it is held on the third Friday in September because it is part of Global PARK(ing) Day where parking spaces are turned into public spaces.
